Celebrating Valentines & Pancake Day

residents enjoying afternoon tea and cakes

The Ashton Care Home have had some great fun over February, with a number of special days, which we have loved celebrating with residents and their families. It's been so special to see how involved everyone has been in our Valentine's Day and Pancake Day celebrations.

Valentines Day Tea

We celebrated the day of love, inviting residents and their families to a special afternoon tea. Creating special moments for residents to spend with their loved ones enjoying an afternoon together.

Residents enjoyed cream teas which were put together by our talented chefs. With a variety of sandwiches and familiar favourite sweet treats like scones and cupcakes, and of course the kettle was on, there was something for all to enjoy.

Pancake Day Creations

Of course, we also had to celebrate Pancake Day, which is always a favourite amongst our residents here at The Ashton.

Our Head Chef Emma, set up a pancake-making station within our dining room for residents to come up to, watch and help make their very own pancake creations. From the traditional familiar favourite of Lemon and Sugar to Fruit, Chocolate and Ice Cream, we loved seeing the residents get creative with their toppings.

At The Ashton, we know the importance of celebrating these special days with residents, who get to enjoy them through social activities, which lead to improved wellbeing and a high quality of life. We're always looking for new and exciting ways to keep residents engaged and living life to the fullest.
