Making Good Use of Our Minibus

Recently at The Ashton Care Home in Hinckley, we have been making good use of our minibus and taking our residents on a few day trips into the local community and surrounding areas.

We first took a visit to Sutton Wharf. This entailed a lovely drive through all of the villages, right up to the Wharf where we parked up and indulged in some drinks and snacks.

The weather wasn't necessarily on our side this day, however, we didn't let it dampen our spirits and we all had a wonderful day leisurely exploring the area and watching the wildlife surrounding the canal.

We also recently visited our local garden centre to buy some clematis for our garden. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed wandering around and looking at all the flowers and plants on offer, and it gave us some great inspiration for brightening up our landscaped gardens ahead of the summer, and also for our arts and crafts sessions.

With the weather becoming slightly warmer and brighter, we have taken every opportunity we can to get out in our garden. Even though the breeze was a bit keen, it has been fantastic to get outdoors and enjoy some fresh air and vitamin D.

We are loving our trips out of the home, and are all very much looking forward to sunnier days and more excursions this summer.
